Supported Housing Manager

Seven Resourcing are looking for temporary Supported Housing Manager to work in the North Northampton area. This position is initially for a period of 6 months and is paying Rate: £22.57 per hour PAYE or £29.34 per hour Umbrella. The working hours are Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm. 

The role:

 

To develop and manage: The Council’s sheltered housing service, Lifeline community alarm service, The Pastures and The Laurels Traveller sites. So that residents receive a high quality service and have the confidence to live independent and fulfilling lives.

To provide leadership and strategic direction to staff in the Supported Housing Team.

To develop good working relations with tenants so they have appropriate influence over the way in which their homes and sheltered housing schemes are managed.

To exercise effective control over budgets, quality and performance in the Supported Housing team.

Key Responsibilities:

 

To assist the Tenancy Services Manager in creating a management culture within the Tenancy Services division which is customer-focussed, forward looking and flexible

To provide leadership to all staff within the Supported Housing team.

To provide effective and supportive supervision to all staff within the Supported Housing Team

To undertake staff appraisal, regular ME time 1-2-1’s in line with the Council’s policies and procedures.

To ascertain training and development needs and devise appropriate training programmes for staff with the team.

To recognise and reward staff for excellent performance and deal effectively with issues of poor performance.

To ensure that the Supported Housing service is relevant, cost-effective, customer-focussed and supports the Council’s strategic aims.

To contribute data, analysis and commentary to the Housing Service Plan, Housing Strategy, HRA Business Plan and Corporate Plan.

To assess new statutory requirements and recommend changes to policies and procedures to ensure that the Council achieves its strategic aims and fulfils statutory obligations.

To prepare and present reports regularly to a variety of audiences on supported housing including policy developments, new legislation and performance.

To ensure that the Council is at the forefront of best practice in the management of supported housing services.

To act as the Council’s Contract Manager on the Council’s externally contracted community alarm call centre.

To manage the Council’s sheltered housing schemes and sheltered support worker service, ensuring cost effective utilisation of staff resources.

To manage the Lifeline Community Alarm System and maintain an effective working relationship with the operator of the control centre.

To manage The Pastures and The Laurels Traveller Sites, ensuring a high quality environment and good relations with residents.

To participate in the Council’s emergency out of hours call out service on a rota basis where necessary.

Applicant Requirements:

 

Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role. 

Compliance: Proof of right to work in the UK and 2 x references. 

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37 hours p/w.
