Surveyor – Sheffield City Council

Seven Social Care is looking for a locum Surveyor to work with Sheffield City Council with ideally accredited energy assessors accredited by Elmhurst, to produce Energy Performance Certificates.

Knowledge of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System is preferred.

These are six month assignments while we run permanent recruitment exercises.

 

Pay rate – £18 per hour

The role:

All Surveyors will have a core of generic management duties and responsibilities to ensure a high quality, continually improving and customer driven service.

This job description specifies duties and responsibilities in addition to the core duties and responsibilities related to a specific unit in the Housing and Neighbourhood Service. The core content may change from time to time depending on sub team or section within the Asset Management and Programme Works Team.

A Surveyor has operational responsibility for a function(s) including but not limited to:

  1. Responsible for building surveys, condition assessments and specialist surveys such as EPC’s, Asbestos and HHSRS including recording accurate dimensions in accordance with industry standards and to identify where properties do not comply with relevant legislation or standards
  2. Provide training and technical support to team members and apprentices, support safe site visits by undertaking a visual risk assessment.
  3. Maintaining accurate and timely site instructions. Having an awareness of the budget implications, validating invoices and work completions to advise others with budget management responsibility, providing cost estimates when required. Give advice to others in HNS about suitable products for individual projects and provide cost estimates using SORs or supplier information.

Applicant Requirements:

 

Experience:2+ years working within a same or similar role.

Compliance:Proof of right to work and DBS dated within the last 12 months (or registered on the online update service.)

Travel:Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
