Transitional Worker

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Transitional Worker to work with a Domestic Abuse Service in Sutton. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £13.95 (PAYE) or £17.00 (umbrella) per hour. The role involves working from Monday – Friday (9am – 5pm). 

The role:

The refuge part of the Transform partnership supports women and children experiencing domestic abuse in our safe house. Floating support service offers in community support to women and men experiencing domestic abuse. 

Our service users are supported to build their self-esteem and live free from abuse.  Support includes accessing other services, obtaining legal remedies, referrals and sign posting to other appropriate agencies, support with housing and other.

Refuge support also includes a move on support to women and children exiting refuge into their new homes.

  • Experience of direct work supporting women and children experiencing domestic abuse and VAWG
  • In depth knowledge of domestic abuse/VAWG and its effects on survivors
  • Extensive and demonstrable knowledge of statutory, regulatory and legal framework of   housing legislation and housing options, particularly applicable to the housing provision for survivors of DA
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits legislation that apply to women and children fleeing domestic abuse
  • Ability to identify and link up service users with local networks and resources such as health, education, activities etc

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: N/A
  • Experience: 2+ years working within Domestic Abuse.
  • Compliance: Proof of right to work and DBS dated within the last 12 months (or registered on the online update service.)
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 35 hours p/w.
