YJS Probation Officer

Seven Social Care are currently recruiting for a YJS Probation Officer to start a new role in Bolton.

You will provide core services of the Youth Justice Service (YJS)  including assessment and intervention to reduce reoffending by young people in line with National Standards and the Youth Justice Plan.

Responsibilities:

To work together as part of a multi-agency team and in partnership with relevant agencies to provide high quality services to children, young people, their families, and the wider community with the aim of preventing offending. This will include direct work with the victims of crime.

To work to National Standards and in line with locally adopted service level agreements

To represent the YJS and provide a service in the Magistrates, Crown and Civil Courts as required including providing a service to “occasional courts” on Saturdays and Bank Holidays on a rota basis.

Applicant Requirements:

Experience: Experience of partnership working in a multi-agency setting with young people who have offended and their families.

Qualifications:  Either Social Work Qualification (i.e., degree in social work, MA Social Work, CQSW, Dip SW), Dip Probation Studies or Dip in Youth and Community Studies (full time qualification).

Compliance: Enhanced DBS, Right to Work in the UK

Hours: 37 hours a week

Travel: full UK driving license and access to your own car
