Seven Resourcing are looking to fill a Youth Prevention Woker role in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

This is full-time temporary position offering £16.12 p/h

Job summary:

Our Targeted Youth Support Service works with young people aged 11-19 years (and those up to 25 with additional needs) to provide targeted support either on a one to one basis or as part of a group or project. Through early help or the early identification of an issue, we can offer a range of universal and targeted support to reduce or prevent problems or issues from getting worse and bring in the right support at the right time to meet young people’s needs.

One to one Early Help for young people can cover a range of issues including:

  • Personal resilience
  • Low level mental health support
  • Emotional health and wellbeing support
  • Promoting positive and healthy relationships
  • Addressing risk taking behaviours such as sex, drugs, and alcohol
  • Family conflict and breakdown
  • Child exploitation
  • Exploring gender and identity
  • Preventing offending behaviour
  • Substance and alcohol misuse
  • Preventing young people from going missing
  • Sexual health

The postholder will be required to undertake a range of duties to work directly with young people who are at risk or on the cusp of entering statutory interventions by planning, facilitating and deliver a range of tailored early help and support interventions including one to one work to meet the diverse needs of young people and their families in partnership with other agencies and providers.

You will possess a Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject area and have a demonstrable track record in building successful and engaging relationships with young people to enable positive change.

The role will require an element of evening work on occasion to the meet the needs of young people.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Relevant Level 4 Qualification or Equivalent
  • Experience: 2 + years similar experience
  • Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. References covering the last 5 years.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
